Bharat Samachar, a television channel in Uttar Pradesh, was also raided. According to sources, an income tax team raided the Lucknow office and publisher’s home to check tax documents.
The source claimed that these raids were based on “conclusive evidence of tax fraud” by the channel. Bharat Samachar’s recent report criticized the UP government.
The opposition claimed that the attack was related to government reports of “mismanagement” of Covid.
