Why be a YJ?
Recognition: The undocked talent of the youth needs direction; the under-represented opinions of the youth need a voice. Being a YJ will endow such amateur journalists/students that lack professional experience but hold a strong opinion, with a platform to express and remind the nation of what true journalism really is. If you have what it takes to reform the deteriorating journalism, YJ will serve to be your mentor.
Opportunity: It is often observed that the students pursuing media studies intern with recognized media agencies and are absorbed into the agency’s style of reporting. The budding professionals are not given an upper hand in news writing/reporting, let alone anchoring; this nascent talent often goes to vain as the individual is forced to dwell in the routine system of news reporting. Thus, Young Journalism looks out for that hidden talent and supports individuality. Being a YJ will let you drive the wagon and soar high in the field of Journalism.
